Crisis Intervention

If a child needs immediate support, we are here to help! This service provides mental health treatment for children with mental health problems that can’t wait for a regularly scheduled appointment. Crisis intervention can last up to eight hours and be provided in a clinic or provider office, over the phone, or in the home or other community setting. Crisis stabilization allows for time to work with the child and caregivers to assure stability and safety. It is also important for the child and family to receive ongoing support and services following a crisis evaluation or psychiatric hospitalization. Follow-Up appointments are scheduled within 48 hours of the hospital visit.

Walk-ins are welcome at our Tulare Office during regular business hours. If possible, please call to let us know you’re on your way. After-hours crisis intervention is provided by the Tulare County Psychiatric Emergency Team (PET) at 559-730-9922.
