HHMH Selected for Tulare City School District’s 2025/2026 United for Good Campaign

We’re thrilled to share that Hope Horizon Mental Health has been selected by students at the Tulare City School District as the featured nonprofit for the 2025/2026 United for Good Campaign!

The United for Good initiative is a student-led campaign that highlights and supports a local organization each school year. Through awareness efforts and school-wide activities—including the sale of custom-designed t-shirts—the campaign helps raise funds and build stronger connections between students, families, and the broader community.

This recognition is especially meaningful to us, as our team currently provides on-campus mental health services at all Tulare City School District schools. We’re excited for the opportunity to connect more deeply with students and their families, share more about the work we do, and encourage open conversations about mental health and wellness.

Check out the video below, created as part of our application. It offers a look at our services through a child’s perspective and highlights what we aim to provide every day: a safe, welcoming place where hope and healing begin.

We’re so grateful to the students and staff who chose to spotlight Hope Horizon this year. We are so excited to partner with you all for a meaningful and inspiring campaign!

Parking Lot Makeover: Thanks to Land O’Lakes Foundation!

A huge thank you to the Land O’Lakes Foundation for their generous donation to help us improve our employee parking lot! Their support ensures our team has a safe and accessible space, allowing us to focus on what matters most—providing hope to the children and families we serve. We are so grateful for this partnership and their commitment to community impact!

APAF Award for Advancing Minority Mental Health – New York City

On May 7th, 2024, Hope Horizon was presented with the American Psychiatric Association Foundation’s (APAF) Award for Advancing Minority Mental Health at the APA’s Annual Convening in New York City. We were honored during the Diversity Leaders and Alumni Reception with this award, which recognizes community organizations that have undertaken innovative and supportive efforts to:

  • Raise awareness in underserved minority communities about mental illness including the need for early recognition, access to and the availability of treatment, and the cultural barriers to treatment.
  • Increase access to quality mental health services for underserved minorities.
  • Improve the quality of care for underserved minorities, particularly those in the public health system or with severe mental illness.

We are so proud of the work our team does every day in Tulare County! Thank you to the APAF for this recognition and for your contribution to our programs!

OCT. 2023 – NAME CHANGE UPDATE:

We are officially Hope Horizon Mental Health!

Our agency has a legacy of serving Tulare County since 1971 as Tulare Youth Service Bureau (TYSB) – but we felt it was time to change our name. We are not only in the City of Tulare, we don’t only serve youth, and “services bureau” seemed so vague and formal. We are excited to introduce ourselves as Hope Horizon Mental Health (HHMH) – an agency whose mission is to provide hope and healing through mental health services to children, adults, and families.

Thank you to the Tulare Chamber of Commerce for hosting our Ribbon Cutting event in October 2023 to officially unveil our new name and to celebrate the expansion of our building. Thank you to all those who came to celebrate with us and who stayed to attend our Open House! We had tours, resource tables, refreshments, and a great time of discussion and networking. We are excited to continue to serve this community and to find new ways to grow and meet the needs of children and families throughout Tulare County.
